Now the reason I picked up this book was probobly the title. The whole 'the girl...' Reminded me of the whole amazin Steig Larsson series - although this has nothing to do with it!
Secondly was the reviews on the book and actual rave reviews of the boo that I had heard. I'm a stickler for a crime thriller so it was mine!
I got into the book really quick and read it in a day! I'm crazy! But I got hooked into the story and had a lot of sympathy for the main character and the turbulancy of her life, and I genuinely wanted to see how it turned out. The character was extremely relatable and was in a constant series of situations I think we have all been in at one time or the other which was what made her interesting.
Now about the plot.. It was great.. But it all happened so fast. We never did find out the relevance of the pile of clothes on the side of the track? I felt that the story could have been taken further and weaved further into a larger twist. The claim on the front was about a gripping huge twist.. But I had guessed the ending around halfway into the book. I kept thinking this was the track I was supposed to be in and there was going to be a much larger twist that would send me in to shock and awe.. And I read and waited, and read and waited.. Then the book ended.
Eek.
I would recommend this book to friend and il be lending it out because it is one of those busy talk points at the minute however I wasn't overly impressed. Sorry!
2.5 out of 5 stars.
Until next time!
